Joey started in the Special Olympics Young Athletes Program when he was 6 years old and has been involved in Special Olympics ever since! He’s played multiple Special Olympics sports, but Unified sports are his favorite.
In high school, Joey was involved in the Youth Activation Committee at Special Olympics Nebraska, and in 2019 he attended a Youth Leadership Summit in Chicago where he met youth leaders with the same passion for inclusion. That very passion led him to become an US Youth Ambassador for Special Olympics North America.
It is Joey’s dream come true to be a part of the Global Youth Leadership Council, where he can continue to advocate for inclusion on an international level and work with people who share the same passion. Joey is a leader of the Unified Generation because he loves to spread the message that everyone deserves to feel included and have their voice heard.
