Jazzman and Breanna are organizing an inclusive picnic in their community to bring together young people with and without intellectual disabilities.
About the Project Leaders
Jazzman, 18, and Breanna, 18, are Youth Leaders from Arkansas, USA. Jazzman and Breanna have both been involved for many years in activities that promote advocacy for young people with and without disabilities at their school and within their community. These activities have included volunteer projects, local summer camps, and Special Olympics competitions. Through their experience in local advocacy, Jazzman and Breanna have enjoyed bringing students together and seeing their smiles.
The Inspiration
While they have had opportunities to promote inclusion outside of school, they want to bring these inclusive activities to their campus. Jazzman and Breanna want to provide their fellow students an opportunity to be a part of Special Olympics and the inclusion revolution. To do so, they have decided to start a new inclusive club at their school.
The Plan
To promote their new club, Jazzman and Breanna, along with 20 other youth, plan to organize an inclusive picnic at their school where they will promote kindness and positive behavior by providing students with free snow-cones and educating them about advocacy for inclusion.
Project Goals
The event will showcase the new advocacy club and encourage other students to join in on advocating for an inclusive and Unified world! Jazzman and Breanna hope that this inclusive club will make everyone at their school feel like they have a community and a sense of belonging.
