David Duncan is an athlete from Special Olympics Jamaica in the North America Region. David participates in volleyball, basketball, football, track, and field. He has been involved in Special Olympics since 2008.
David’s favorite moments about Special Olympics are getting to meet new people from around the world and interacting with people with and without intellectual disabilities.
David is employed with Special Olympics Jamaica as an I.T. and activities support. When David isn’t working or competing, he enjoys watching movies, playing sports, and engaging in debates with his friends, as well as learning new things.
David believes that being an athlete leader means having the opportunity to voice the concerns of the athletes and work alongside the staff of Special Olympics Jamaica to come up with solutions. David believes that as an athlete leader he can also represent and be the voice of athletes in Jamaica and the Caribbean. As an athlete leader he also gets to meet other athlete leaders.
