Chris DeVoe

Manager, Health Data

Chris DeVoe grew up in Columbia, MD and studied ecology at the University of Maryland, working as a theater carpenter and regularly volunteering for Habitat for Humanity. After a brief stint as a bicycle messenger in Brooklyn, he moved to New Orleans to volunteer after Hurricane Katrina. That work with Common Ground supported the clean-up of hundreds of homes and the start of a neighborhood health clinic. He then ventured to the Bay Area of California, working in the organic food industry and farmer’s markets while also distributing free food to hungry people in city parks. His passion for hiking and the outdoors led him to Denver, CO, where he managed an organic produce department at a downtown health food store through the challenges of the pandemic. Wanting to make a wider impact, he earned his Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from the Colorado School of Public Health, learning data analysis in R and Python through environmental health research about childhood leukemia. He recently moved back to the DC area for wider opportunities and to live closer to elderly family. He's excited to join this venerated institution improving the health and wellness of people with IDD and their families.
