Madam Sujing Zhao

Vice President, China Disabled Persons’ Federation, People’s Republic of China

Madam Sujing Zhao has been working with sport for persons with disabilities since 1993 and felt strong ties to Special Olympics and Special Olympics athletes. She has participated in seven Special Olympics World Summer Games and five Special Olympics World Winter Games as Executive Deputy Head of China Delegation being responsible for organizing delegation and competition participation. With the push of Ms. Zhao and her team, Special Olympics has been rapidly expanded in China and seven National Games have been held so far. Since 2007, Special Olympics Day has been conducted across China for 16 consecutive years. Special Olympics sub-programs have been established one after another across the nation. Ms. Zhao also served as Deputy Secretary General during the 2007 Shanghai Special Olympics World Summer Games Organizing Committee. With her leadership, Special Olympics China has recruited over 1.3 million athletes and more than 80,000 coaches by the end of 2022.
