The power of sport was in full display in a special episode of Power Rangers Dino Fury featuring Special Olympics New Zealand athlete Sarah Dalton. Episode 5 of the 28th season premiered in the U.S. on 27 March, 2021 with Sarah guest-starring as a running coach for her cousin Izzy, the green Power Ranger, played by Tessa Rao.
In the episode, Lily teaches Izzy a valuable life-lesson about how “winning isn’t everything.” This is an old saying that many Special Olympics athletes believe in and demonstrate on and off the playing fields. The episode also illustrates another popular saying, “life imitating art.”
Special Olympics caught up with Sarah and Tessa to learn about the real-life lessons they learned from each other while working together on set.
Sarah also shared her thoughts about the similarities between being an athlete and acting.
