Miss America 2022 Emma Broyles boasts quite the resume and continues to set a new standard for what it means to wear the crown. She’s the first Korean-American and Alaskan to be named Miss America, a biomedical sciences major at Arizona State University, and a staunch supporter of Special Olympics.
Emma’s older brother is a Special Olympics athlete with Down syndrome. From her early childhood years, she established a close relationship with Special Olympics Alaska and became the president of the Special Olympics program in her high school. Through Emma’s leadership, her high school was the first in Alaska to be named a Unified Champion School. Needless to say, it came as no surprise when Emma chose Special Olympics as her social impact initiative in the Miss America competition.
Emma is currently traveling the country inspiring the next generation of women, spreading the message of inclusion and how we can all be our best selves. Recently, she linked up with our host Novie Craven over Zoom to record a new episode of Inclusion Revolution Radio.
