Soccerex and Special Olympics: Bringing International Footballers Together

Special Olympics and Soccerex signed a global partnership agreement during SoccerexUSA 2019 in Miami, Florida. Soccerex is the leading business to business event provider for the global football industry. This partnership will help build other partnerships with football federations, coaching associations, professional leagues and teams, and media outlets to communicate our message. The message of how we use sport to bring footballers with and without intellectual disabilities together as teammates to build friendships and promote social inclusion on and off the pitch.

This partnership will benefit the more than 1.6 million Special Olympics footballers and 300,000 Unified Football athletes and partners in the 217 programs around the globe. In 2018, the first Special Olympics Unified Cup was held with 24 Unified Football teams competing on the global stage. Partnering with Soccerex will allow more Unified Football players opportunities like the Unified Cup.
