The 2018 Special Olympics European Football Week was organized in Cyprus from May 19st – May 27th. More than 65 young athletes with and without intellectual disabilities from Special Olympics Cyprus and more than 20 partners / volunteers participated in the Unified Football Project.
The major event was held on Friday, June 8, at Nuevo Campo Football fields in Nicosia and was supported by one of the world’s leading insurance companies MetLife EMEA. MetLife Foundation as the main supporter of the event, gave the opportunity to 65 young athletes to participate in different football skills and experience the actual game. The Cyprus Football Federation also supported the event by supplying all the necessary equipment.
