Unified Sports® is growing in Uganda across schools, clubs and federations with a new boost from the GIZ Global Project “Inclusion of People with Disabilities.” This will also include the legacy of the Special Olympics World Games 2023 in Berlin, through networking with Special Olympics Germany and the Berlin Local Organizing Committee during the teams’ preparation process. Lasting eight months, the project will include using sports as a tool for COVID-19 awareness alongside the Unified Sports® coach trainings for basketball, football and handball. The project close and results will be celebrated at the Special Olympics Uganda National Games 2022 in Gulu on 30 May, so watch this space!
