Golf Star Leads Clinic for Special Olympics Great Britain Athletes

Golfing legend leads clinic for Special Olympics Great Britain athletes.jpg

Special Olympics Global Ambassador and golfing legend, Padraig Harrington led an exciting golf clinic for six Special Olympics Great Britain (GB) athletes on Wednesday 11 July, 2018.

The clinic, which took place in Gullane Golf Club on the eve of the Scottish Open, provided a unique opportunity for athletes to receive individual coaching from a golfing champion. Among the Special Olympics golfers was Caitlin Dodds from Edinburgh who is a member of the Special Olympics Great Britain Golf Team competing in the Abu Dhabi World Games in March 2019.

Special Olympics Great Britain Head Coach, Jamie McDonald, who is training Caitlin and other Team GB players for the World Games, was full of praise for Padraig. He said, “Each player had individual time with Padraig which was great for them—everyone went away with a tip on how to improve their grip, swing etc … I cannot thank Padraig enough for giving us his time and attention. It really was greatly appreciated.”
