Enma lives in the city of San Pedro Sula, Honduras. She joined Special Olympics and competed in rhythmic gymnastics since she was 11 years old. Enma won a total of 36 medals in gold, silver, and bronze from participating in various events. Her happiest moment was winning a gold medal at the 11th Special Olympics World Summer Games in Dublin, Ireland.
In 2018, she was selected and trained as a Health Messenger in Santo Domingo, with the support of her mentors. She learned to take care of her diet and thereafter, she encouraged fellow athletes to improve their eating habits. She has spoken to the athletes at the Special Olympics Healthy Athletes® event in Honduras. Enma’s family helped her create videos to raise awareness about the importance of good nutrition, physical and emotional health, and to provide advice to Special Olympics athletes in San Pedro Sula. Enma is part of the Athlete Leadership Program which helps athletes become leaders by helping others.
Outside of her commitments as a Health Messenger, Enma loves being with her dogs, listening to music, dancing, and cooking.
Her motto: “Your health and my health are important in my life.”
