Sharon Johnson, affectionately known as “Dimp,” lives in Dermott, Arkansas. She joined Special Olympics in 1990 when she first stepped onto the field as an athlete. Sharon’s sports range includes softball, bocce, bowling, basketball, track and field, and powerlifting. For her, every competition is a cherished moment, a testament to her unwavering dedication.
Her journey as a Health Messenger began when a Monticello coach recognized her leadership potential and encouraged her to take on this vital role. Since her training, Sharon has spoken at various events, leaving an indelible mark. She addressed audiences at the Searcy Summer Games and the County Club in Warren, Monticello, and Eldorado. She passionately advocates for health and wellness within the community. Her health tip is simple yet powerful: “Stay hydrated and maintain a daily exercise routine.”
Outside of Special Olympics, Sharon’s life revolves around her family. She lives with her grandchildren, enjoying the simple pleasures of cooking and playing with them. Her warm smile and unwavering commitment continue to inspire those around her.
