Lisa Noble

2023 Global Athlete Congress Participant

Lisa Noble is an athlete from Special Olympics Illinois in the North America Region. Lisa participates in basketball, bocce, flag football, tennis, track and field, and unified volleyball. She has been involved in Special Olympics since 2014.

Lisa’s favorite part about Special Olympics is the opportunity to meet people from around the world and compete with her husband.

Lisa is excited for the congress in Berlin. She is looking forward to meeting new people and collaborating with athletes around the world.

Lisa created and co-hosts her own podcast with her husband called Amazing Individuals. When Lisa isn’t co-hosting her podcast or competing, she enjoys playing golf, going to Disney World with her husband, and attending Northwestern Women’s Volleyball games.

Lisa says that being an athlete leader means being able to show people that individuals with intellectual disabilities can do whatever they want with the right support as well as help athletes get their voices heard.

Project Description

Lisa’s grant plan is to create unpaid internship positions in Special Olympics Illinois where athletes can help the movement, specifically in donor engagement and stewardship. This will be done by working with Special Olympics Illinois Athlete Leadership directors to pinpoint key areas where athletes could help as interns. Lisa will also work with the Special Olympics Illinois Athlete Leadership program staff to create resources and training materials on how to best utilize athlete leaders in these roles that could be shared across different programs.
