Wei Hang Lai, Special Olympics East Asia.

Wei Hang Lai (Ray)

Global Youth Leadership Council Member

Lai (Ray) is a 19-year-old student at Caritas Lok Mo Integrated Vocational Training Centre in Hong Kong. He has been involved with Special Olympics for 10 years as an athlete playing table tennis, and most recently served on SOHK Athlete Leadership Council. Through this role, Ray has further developed his leadership skills by joining a Unified youth leadership team to locally host Camp Shriver for youth with and without intellectual disability. The goal of his work with Special Olympics is to promote inclusion.

Ray feels that being on the Global Youth Leadership Council is a new and exciting challenge for him. In this role on the council, he will have many opportunities to try new things. Most importantly, he is excited that he can learn from other youth leaders, with or without intellectual disability, from all around the world.

Ray is a leader of the Unified Generation because he believes that he could become the bridge between youth with and without intellectual disability and lead his generation to build a more inclusive world.
